PLATE MERRILL HALL

Merrill Hall is on the site of the first building of the Farmington State Normal School which was founded in 1864 and was the predecessor of the present institution. The rear part of the present building was erected in 1888 and the front part from 1895 - 1898. Known for many years as the Administration Building, it was renamed Merrill Hall when the college joined the University of Maine system.
